When you apologize to your child
Proverbs 22:6
Parents are called to train children with intention.
When you apologize to your child. There is usually more happening here than the obvious problem. There is a difference between acknowledging reality and surrendering your identity to it. One is wisdom. The other is captivity. Your child is deeply loved by you, but belongs to God before they belong to your expectations. Jesus Christ can lead where your control cannot reach. Bring the real problem to Jesus Christ, not the polished version. He already knows what is underneath.
What story are you attaching to this situation that Jesus Christ never said about you?
Lord Jesus Christ, I bring You the part I can explain and the part I cannot. Keep me from reacting out of fear, shame, pride, or loneliness. Teach me to move with You. Amen.
